Trying to pay off debt but having a hard time staying motivated? There is no better motivator than music! Music has the power to get us through a bad week and can give us the courage to pursue our goals.

We teamed up with the social music-sharing site, Spotify, to curate a playlist of the ultimate “debt free” motivational songs. To make the cut for our playlist, the songs had to have inspirational lyrics and dope beats – to give you the courage to take on your debt and stay the course.

“I Will Survive” – Gloria Gaynor

Key Lyrics: “You think I’d crumble. You think I’d lay down and die. Oh no, not I. I will survive”

Takeaway: At first you might be afraid but you have to push through your doubts. Know that you will survive this and you’ll be debt free.

“Stronger” – Kanye West

Key Lyrics: Work it, make it, do it, makes us harder, better, faster, stronger.”

Takeaway: Debt that won’t kill me, can only make me stronger should be your mantra while  gathering  bills and working on your new budget. All it takes is the first step, so just work it, do it!

“Independent Women” – Destiny’s Child

Key Lyrics: “The shoes on my feet, I bought it. The clothes I’m wearing, I bought it. The rock I’m rockin’, I bought it. ‘Cause I depend on me”

Takeaway: Working on your goal of being debt free doesn’t mean you have to stop enjoying  life. It’s just a reminder to live within your means and be diligent about adjusting any spending habits that have contributed to the situation you are in today.

Takeaway: Paying your bills on time is the No.  1 way to improve your credit score.

Takeaway: Becoming debt free can be a long journey. You need to be able to look back every now and then to see how far you’ve come. It’s very motivating, and it gets you to the finish line.

Takeaway: Getting out of debt isn’t easy.  Becoming debt free is a wonderful and amazing feeling. We believe you can do it.

Takeaway:Dedicating yourself to paying off what you owe and becoming debt free will be worth the wait, with the payoff being a brighter financial future.
